Can I use a nickname or my middle name in my advertising?
TREC calls these alternate names. Before using them in your ads, you must register them with TREC. You do not need to register a name that is a common derivative of the name on your license, such as Bill for William.
TREC serves many races with names not William or Robert. What happens with my own middle name – Abayomi and have been known and called “Yomi” or Adesegun nicknamed “Ade” or “Segun”? Do these names require registration because they are not anglocized ?
What about a team name?
It is all about the money I bet TREC has a fee for registering your Nic Name
Billy, you are so right!!! It’s all about the money with TREC. I just found out today that they sell lists with our agent information. I have sent an e-mail to TREC telling them to remove my name & personal information from the lists they are selling. Our dues continue to go up but we, the agents & brokers, are used for profit!!!!
There is no fee, you simply fill out a form and email it to them
There is no charge look at TREC form ALTNM-0
