Rep. Trent Ashby’s legislation to fund broadband and telecommunications expansion throughout the state, HB 9 and HJR 125, passed the House floor on third reading Thursday 140-8. The major broadband legislation has arrived in the Senate.
SB 1412 by Sen. Bryan Hughes, which would change regulation of accessory dwelling units by political subdivisions, passed the Senate floor Thursday 30-1. The House version, HB 2789, was also passed by the Land & Resource Management Committee 7-1.
Another bill that moved out of the House Land & Resource Management Committee last week was HB 3921, which would set a statewide standard for minimum lot sizes and setback standards in municipalities in order to allow more housing development.
Rep. Armando Walle’s bill (HB 3625), which would create exceptions to requirements to notify tenants if their rental unit is located in a floodplain in leaseback situations and for short-term leases, passed the House Business and Industry Committee and was sent to calendars.
SB 1668, the Senate version of Texas REALTORS® priority legislation to improve transparency and accountability of Condo Owners’ Associations, was voted out of committee.
HB 19, which would create a seven-judge business specialty court to handle corporate governance lawsuits and $10+ million business-to-business cases, was voted out of committee and placed on the House Major State Calendar. Today, it was placed on the Major State Calendar.
